PARK CITY PRIDE MINUTES

                        OCT 9, 2010

 

 

Meeting was called to order by Carol Flower in the absence of Chair, Dee Stuart.  Flag  salute given by Ed Arzinger and invocation by Donna Jardine.  Carol read a thank you  note from Janette Drinkwater for food boxes she received.  Also a note from Catholic Charities regarding the Stuff-a-Bus on Sat, Dec 4.

 

Minutes of Sept meeting were approved after one correction , that being   profit from telephone book should net approx $6,337.00. Motion for approval after correction made by Len, 2nd by Jan.  Len gave treasurer’s report .  You all should have copies – Kris made motion for approval and 2nd by Cecile.

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:.

 

State Pride – Those that want to go should get with Carol or Dee and a car pool will be formed.

 

Building – Ed reported that flashing and problem with lights have been fixed.

 

Park City Alive – Oct 23 – Germans Against Slavery – Library.

 

Park City Post – Nov articles due by 20th.

 

Food Pantry – Kris reported that demand has increased.  Served 29 families for approx l0l people. Thanksgiving and Christmas will be upon us soon and we will solicit  businesses and churches.  Freezer is full of meat  so we are in good shape there.

 

Media – Len reported that a form will be generated on –line for people to enter information for  changes, etc., for phone book.

 

 

PRIDE PARTNERS:

 

Friends of Library – April  reported Halloween party will be Oct 29 –   13 activities – Troubles the clown will be there.  They need help with games.  Lions Club will be in charge of these games. Decorating the Library will be Sun, Oct 24 at 2:00 pm.

 

Events Committee – Melvin reported Halloween-in-Park will be Oct 22nd and 23rd @   They are now working on displays. Will start setting up at park on 17th.  They need volunteers to dress up – a suggestion of $l.00 donation for each person will be requested.

 

Chamber – Goyle/Pompeo  meeting at Best Western – send questions to Len, or call Al Taylor for reservations if you plan to attend.

 

Chisholm Trail Elementary – letters to soldiers going well.  Want to start program also to send letters to parents who are incarcerated.  Also donations are still needed for stationary supplies for kids.

 

 

PROJECT REPORTS:

 

Shirts – Dee to bring some to Nov meeting for those that still need.

 

Senior Housing – lst phase has started – moving ahead.

 

Telephone Book – Kris reported that all have been delivered.

 

 Stuff-the-Bus – Carol thanked all helpers –was Successful.  She passed out reports – pls read for $ information.

 

Use of Building – Jan suggested those using the building to pls post on Board so those wanting to use would  know availability.  Course, you still need to advise Ed.

 

Jan also suggested that a recording device be purchased to help Secretary with minutes .  All thought  this was a good idea.  Len made motion that we allow $l00 toward  this purchase, 2nd by Linda – motion passed. Len will buy recorder – thank you Jan and Len !!!

 

Sterling made motion for adjournment – 2nd by Linda  Fifteen (15) people were in attendance!!

 

 

IMPORTANT REMINDER – Next meeting will be Sat,  Nov 6th due to Kansas Sampler being held at our regular meeting Sat..

 

 Refreshments for Nov will be Kris and Scott.
