COMMITTEE REPORTS
BUILDING: Ed Arzinger
He said he had received reports regarding the cleanliness of the building and that the air conditioner was not left of the correct temperature. He has checked his book to determine where the keys to the building are. He said there was a total of 8 keys, 2 have been lost, and he has 1 available for checkout and 5 are checked out to members. Discussion was held that it would be a good idea for the names of anyone that has the building checked out to be indicated on the dry eraser board. The building is available to Pride members only. We need to contact Ed to use the building to avoid schedule conflicts.
PARK CITY ALIVE: Carol Flower
Shakespeare in the Park will be at 7:00 PM tonight in McLean Park west of the tennis court. The next program will be September 24 at the library. It will be “Men were Cheap, Cattle Cost Money”. PRIDE POSSE MEMBERS
CHISHOLM TRAIL ELEMTARY: Tammy Alexander
We have a new Asst. Principal, Christy O’Toole. They are down staff and the final student count will be determined by the end of September. She stated that at enrollment this year, all parents were given a needs form to give them the opportunity to inform the school of any needs they might have regarding school supplies, medical, dental, housing, etc. She said that through this process, it was determined there a large number of our students needed supplies. All the school supplies left from last year as well as the ones brought to the school this year have been given out. They have run out of backpacks. Noah Hill is doing well and attending school on crutches and should be on his artificial leg soon.
The school is looking forward to Supply Mountain on Friday, the 16th. PTO will have some volunteers to help during the day. The school is also looking forward to Basket Bingo night which is scheduled for October 1. PTO, staff, and students have been doing their part by sending notes home with the students, making signs, getting baskets donated, and planning for the refreshments. They are planning to start the after school tutoring program in October. They also need lunchtime tutoring volunteers. She said she looks forward to any Pride members that have an hour at lunchtime to call her.
She said that constructions will be starting soon on a new multi-purpose/FEMA storm room on the west side of the school. Currently, when there is a storm emergency, the children and staff have to go into the old basement locker room under the stage in gymnasium. The children have to stand up there because there isn’t adequate space for everyone.
CHRIST LUTHERAN OUTREACH: Donn Bischoff
He said that they will help sponsor the ALS walk on 09/17. He said they will also be helping with the Crop Walk at the Sedgwick County Park on 10/09. They are also working on Food for Kids project which gathers food items to be placed in bags for children in need to take home with them on weekends, who might not otherwise have food to eat. Tammy stated that many Chisholm Trail children take home the food bags each Friday.

BASKET BINGO: Bonnie Simon
Everything is going well. She has purchased 1800 bingo cards. They will be sold for $5 for a pack of 30. If a person doesn’t want to purchase a whole packet, the cards will be sold for $1 each. She has purchased the raffle tickets too. She needs for members to be present at the Pride Bldg. on Fri., 09/30 at 2 PM to construct and wrap baskets. Please bring all your basket making items with you on that day. The Basket Bingo night will take place on Saturday, October 1. It is scheduled to open at 5 PM with bingo calling to start at 6 PM. Pride members and other volunteers are asked to arrive at 4 PM dressed in our blue pride shirts and with our name tags. We can help the PTO with final setup of the tables and the donation containers. PTO will provide the tablecloths. Baskets will be numbered and if there are ties, the players will draw cards with the highest card getting the basket and second place getting $5.
Bonnie said that she has also gotten support from some local businesses, who will be donating baskets.
SUPPLY MOUNTAIN: Carol Flower
Project is going well. The PTO will be providing volunteers to help during the times when there are no Pride volunteers scheduled. Carol and Keith have been collecting boxes and will have them labeled to make it easier to inventory at the end of the day. Tammy’s husband, Michael will be there at 7 AM to build the tents. If you have been contacted by Carol, or volunteered at the August meeting, please be there at your appointed time. If you indicated that you are willing to work and have no time scheduled, please contact Carol. Volunteers can always be used at 6 PM to inventory.
OLD BUSINESS:
AWARD TO JOHN LEEKER: Jan McGonigle
Several Pride members went to Leeker’s and surprised John with the plaque. He was very surprised and grateful. He was very humbled. A framed copy of the letter to state Pride and a framed photo of the presentation will be taken to John soon.

Pride was the sponsor of the spring garage sale and the proceeds for us was $598. The Lion’s Club will be the sponsor for the fall sale on September 24.
NEW BUSINESS
PIZZA HUT PROMOTION: Jan McGonigle
We have the opportunity to help our local Pizza Hut and make some $$ for our projects. All we have to do is signup with the manager and spread the word that 20% of the sales(after taxes) for the night will be coming to Pride. Jan thinks that Friday night (game night) would be the best time. Jan said that Friends of the Library could do this too on a different night. We could stand out front and hand out the “coupons”. Linda said that if someone was available, we might consider doing it at lunchtime on the same day as well. Len made the motion to do the Friday night, seconded by Linda Holsey. Motion carried. The Pizza Hut manager will be contacted to set it up with Friday, October 21 being our first date? Motion carried.
CHRISTMAS BASKETS: Jan McGonigle
The committee for this project has yet to meet (Linda, Dee K., Dee Stuart, Kathy, Sterling & Carol F.). Len suggested that we partner with the Park City Police Department for this project and Linda Holsey said she would contact the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department as well. Meeting needs to happen before October 1 and we need a report at the October meeting.
REFRESHMENTS FOR OCTOBER 8TH: Linda Holsey & Len Warren.
ADJOURNMENT: Ken Flower made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Linda Holsey. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10:10 AM.
